CTA Congratulates Past Digital Patriots on New Congressional Leadership Positions

The Consumer Technology Association (CTA)® congratulates three past CTA Digital Patriots—lawmakers honored annually by CTA for championing pro-innovation policies — who have been selected to new leadership positions in the 117th Congress.

  • Suzan DelBene (D-WA) – 2017 Digital Patriot, will serve as the chair of the New Democrat Coalition.
  • Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) – 2017 Digital Patriot, will serve as ranking member on the House Energy and Commerce Committee.

  • Gregory Meeks (D-NY) – 2009 Digital Patriot, will serve as chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee.

"We congratulate Reps. DelBene, McMorris Rodgers and Meeks on their elections to Congressional leadership positions,” said Tiffany Moore, CTA senior vice president, political and industry affairs. “We’re confident that, as Digital Patriots, these lawmakers will continue to champion pro-innovation policies. Digital Patriots value reaching across the aisle to achieve results. As we emerge from an especially vitriolic and partisan election cycle, these leaders will help restore stability and bipartisanship to our nation's policymaking process — and we look forward to our continued work with them."

CTA also recognizes the following retiring Digital Patriots and thanks them for their tremendous leadership on innovation policy:

  • Susan Brooks (R-IN) - 2018 Digital Patriot

  • Will Hurd (R-TX) - 2017 Digital Patriot

  • Greg Walden (R-OR) - 2019 Digital Patriot
