With over 1,100 active participants, CTA’s standards program creates the blueprints behind many of our favorite tech products. As part of a CTA standards committee, you’ll have the greatest opportunity to influence the standards setting process and become an early player in market-shaping decisions.

Join a Standards Committee 

Anyone, except a member of the press, is eligible to join a CTA standards committee.

CTA Members: There is no charge to participate in CTA standards activities. 

Nonmembers: There is an annual fee, based on your company’s annual revenue, for participation.

This committee develops standards, recommended practices, and technical reports related to augmented reality, virtual reality and related technologies.

Consumer Electronics Networking Committee

This committee establishes standards and guidelines for networks involving communications between, to, or from consumer electronics devices.

Cybersecurity and Privacy Management Committee

This committee develops standards, recommended practices, and technical reports in the areas of cybersecurity and privacy management, for developers of connected devices.

Health Fitness & Wellness Committee

This committee develops standards, recommended practices, and related documentation for consumer health and fitness technology, including fixed, portable and wearable health and fitness devices.

Intelligent Mobility Committee

This committee produces standards that address intelligent mobility for consumer electronics products, including those used in vehicles, autonomous systems, portable accessories, and accessible navigation.

Modular Communication Interface for Energy Management Subcommittee

This subcommittee produces standards for smart grid connectivity.

WAVE Specifications

This project focuses on commercial internet video and web applications, and developing interoperability tools for global compatibility.
