The Consumer Technology Association (CTA)® and IBM created the CTA Apprenticeship Coalition, a collaborative effort by CTA member companies to create and expand hundreds of apprenticeship opportunities nationwide and prepare American workers for careers in fast-growing fields such as software engineering, data analytics, project management and hardware design.
Members of the coalition collaborate and draw on IBM's apprenticeship program, which launched in 2017 and is registered with the U.S. Department of Labor, to help them develop, launch and scale their own in-house apprenticeship programs.
The coalition's mission is to create a national corps of skilled workers who will fill millions of open new collar jobs in communities across the country, not only in traditional tech hubs on the coasts.
Strategic Goals
Serve as an industry leader in offering and scaling apprenticeships.
Develop additional employment pathways for students, mid-career professionals and veterans.
Promote inclusion by providing more American opportunities to work in the tech industry.
Created by CTA and IBM, this new playbook explores how the pandemic is accelerating the future of work, why apprenticeships are a workforce solution, and more.
