Today, the Consumer Technology Association (CTA)® announces United States Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) and the Problem Solvers Caucus as the association’s 2022 Digital Patriots. The CTA Digital Patriot Awards honor government and industry leaders who champion policies and practices vital to innovation in consumer technology and America’s global tech leadership. The honorees will be recognized during an invitation-only dinner reception and awards ceremony on April 5 as part of CTA’s Tech Week.

“Both Senator Rosen and members of the Problem Solvers Caucus are prime examples of the  leaders we need in Congress to champion pro-innovation policies that bolster our economy, create jobs, and address critical issues facing our nation,” said Gary Shapiro, president and CEO, CTA. “Their dedication and hard work in Congress to find bipartisan solutions are what helps America lead in global innovation.”

Problem Solvers Caucus Co-Chairs, Representatives Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA) and Josh Gottheimer (D-NJ), will receive the award on behalf of the caucus.

Sen. Jacky Rosen (D-NV)

Jacky Rosen is a U.S. Senator representing the state of Nevada, and she is the first computer programmer ever to serve in the Senate. She serves on the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation where she has championed cybersecurity, STEM, and tech issues. In January 2022, she organized and moderated a bipartisan panel with the largest number of Senators to attend CES in Las Vegas. Senator Rosen has also been a fighter for expanding broadband access in Nevada. She helped write the broadband section of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, which was signed into law in November 2021 and is delivering $65 billion in overall investment to make broadband available and affordable to Americans.

Problem Solvers Caucus

The Problem Solvers Caucus – comprised of representatives from across the country – equally divided between Democrats and Republicans – is committed to finding common ground on many of the key issues facing the nation. Co-Chaired by Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-NJ) and Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA), the Caucus aims to create a durable bloc that champions ideas that appeal to a broad spectrum of the American people. It is a group united in identifying solutions to many of the country's toughest challenges with an eye toward innovation. For example, the Problem Solvers Caucus forged a bipartisan path forward to pass a bill that will modernize U.S. infrastructure. The Caucus also brought both parties together to build support in the House for ocean shipping reform, which will address supply chain issues and inflation.
