The Consumer Technology Association (CTA) today announced that former NBA superstar, and now full-time investor and entrepreneur, Baron Davis has been named CES Ambassador for 2018. Owned and produced by CTA, CES® 2018 will run Jan. 9-12, 2018 in Las Vegas, Nev.

“We are thrilled to welcome Baron Davis to CES as our 2018 ambassador,” said Karen Chupka, senior vice president, CES and corporate business strategy, CTA “Baron has been an innovator on and off the court, is representative of the entrepreneurial spirit that thrives at CES and is the perfect partner as we expand CES Sports Zone.”

Baron Davis is a two-time NBA All-Star and record-holder. Over a thirteen-year career, he played for the Charlotte Hornets, the Golden State Warriors, the Los Angeles Clippers, the Cleveland Cavaliers and the New York Knicks. He is now a full-time entrepreneur, investor and businessman under his Baron Davis Enterprises (BDE) banner. An original investor in Vitaminwater, Davis is the creator of several companies including SLIC (Sports and Lifestyle in Culture), No Label and UNIFD and Black Santa —each with the objective of combining creative talent with original publication, production and merchandise to develop and provide powerful and engaging stories that appeal to global audiences.

“I’m incredibly excited to be working with the Consumer Technology Association as the CES 2018 Ambassador,” said Davis. “I’ve always had an entrepreneurial spirit, and even during my playing days, worked to invest in and build new businesses in the media and technology worlds. Now, as a full-time entrepreneur and investor, I’m excited to see everything CES has to offer.”

As CES Ambassador, Davis will help give Hollywood and the sporting world a view of technologies that will influence their industries through experiences in C Space and the new CES Sports Zone. C Space provides a focused setting for those in the entertainment, marketing, content and advertising worlds to understand technology’s influence on these markets. The CES Sports Zone is the home base for athletes, leagues, media and sports tech companies, bringing together key players and industry visionaries who are shaping the future of sports for athletes and fans.
