The following statement is attributed to Gary Shapiro, president and CEO, Consumer Technology Association (CTA)®, on the passing of former CTA Chairman and founder of the Mitek Communications and Electronics Group Loyd Ivey.  

It’s with a heavy heart that we acknowledge the passing of Loyd Ivey, a passionate advocate for the advancement of the electronics industry, and a serial entrepreneur. Inducted into the CTA Hall of Fame for contributions to the consumer electronics industry. Loyd led by example, whether creating hundreds of jobs or giving back to the community. Loyd helped create the CTA Foundation and served as a Founding Trustee, part of an effort to give back on behalf of the industry. His guidance was instrumental in support of the foundation.
