The Consumer Technology Association (CTA) Foundation recently awarded $475,000 in grants to 28 non-profits and universities, representing the highest dollar amount since its inception in 2012. Recipients across the United States leverage technology to help older adults and people with disabilities.
“People of all ages and abilities deserve independence,” said Steve Ewell, CTA Foundation executive director. “The amazing network of organizations we support use technology to meaningfully improve people’s lives. As we celebrate our tenth year of service, we’re finding new and innovative groups who expand the reach of technology in support of older adults and people with disabilities.”
CTA Foundation hosted a tenth anniversary giving challenge in late June providing ten previous grant recipients an additional $1000 donation. The Foundation awarded The Filomen M. D’Agostino Greenberg Music School in New York City $10,000 for their mission to foster education, access and inclusion for people with vision loss.
“Thank you to the CTA Foundation for supporting A Little Help,” said Hilary Simmons, A Little Help executive director. “This grant will enable us to expand our virtual and hybrid programming offered to older adults in Metro Denver, Northern Colorado, and the Western Slope. We are also partnering with another CTA Foundation grant recipient, DOROT, to build a model for technology coaching and education as a framework for Villages to adopt. We are so grateful for the CTA Foundation’s generous support of this impactful work.”
Demonstrating CTA’s long-term commitment to the Las Vegas community (home of CES), CTA Foundation is proud to support local organizations Opportunity Village and ROSE Foundation.
“Opportunity Village is thrilled to receive support from the CTA Foundation,” said Marina Timoteo, Opportunity Village grants manager. “Through technology enhancements for our newly developing case management system, we will make a significant impact on the lives of people we serve with disabilities in Southern Nevada.”
