The Consumer Technology Association (CTA)® – owner and producer of CES®, announced they will partner with the American College of Cardiology to host the Disruptive Innovations in Health Care conference as a forum for the intersecting worlds of health care and tech. The conference will provide the opportunity to earn Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits during CES 2020, the only place where attendees can experience the full ecosystem of tech and learn how they are shaping the medical industry.

Taking place on Jan. 9, 2020 during CES in Las Vegas, NV, the Disruptive Innovations in Health Care Conference will feature topics including:
  • Value-based care – Digital solutions have the potential to change our healthcare system with treatments that result in healthier patient behaviors and lower costs.
  • Reimbursement 2.0 – A key to digital health transformation will focus on the current state, and possible future reimbursement opportunities and solutions.
  • Home-based care – Hear from the technology companies creating innovations for health care in the home, as well as the payers and clinicians deploying them.
  • Clinician and technology partnerships – Tech companies, payers and clinicians will share their perspectives on successful partnerships to improve health care.
The conference will also feature speakers that bring patient, provider, technology and payer voices to the CES stage, including:

“CES is where you’ll see life-changing tech revolutionizing health care – providing personalized and improved care, and lowering costs,” said Karen Chupka, executive vice president, CES. “The digital health presence at CES 2020 will jump by 25% and welcome leading health care providers, technology companies and more. CES is the only place where attendees experience the full ecosystem of digital health and get hands-on experience with tech that tackles real world issues with remote monitoring products, digital therapeutics, artificial intelligence and more.”

“Digital Health has the potential to redefine health care, including better patient-clinician interactions and more efficient care,” said ACC Chief Innovation Officer John Rumsfeld, MD, PhD, FACC. “To fulfill this promise, ACC believes that patients, clinicians and the technology sector need to work side by side. To that end, we are excited to join CTA and the technology sector in the Disruptive Innovations in Healthcare track at CES. Working together, we can meaningfully improve health and health care.”

Notable exhibitors at CES 2020 will include Abbott, Cigna, Humana, Omron Healthcare, Myant, Philips, Procter & Gamble and Samsung.

The growing presence of digital health at CES is supported by the work of CTA’s health and fitness technology member group, which strengthens the industry through education, research, standards work, and policy initiatives, including the recent release of the Guiding Principles for the Privacy of Personal Health and Wellness Information.
