After its debut at CES 2026, the Accessibility Stage will return at CES 2027, highlighting groundbreaking innovations that advance accessibility for everyone

ARLINGTON, VA – October 9, 2026 – The Consumer Technology Association® Foundation (CTA Foundation) received a U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chairman’s Award for Advancement in Accessibility, alongside Verizon, for hosting the first-ever Accessibility Stage at CES 2026. Through expert-led panels and conversations, the stage explored how technology is removing barriers and creating more inclusive experiences for people with disabilities.

"Congratulations to our CTA Foundation and its distinguished leader, Steve Ewell, on this remarkable recognition,” said Kinsey Fabrizio, President & CEO, CTA. “Designing technology to make daily life more accessible for people with disabilities is just one way that CTA member companies work to improve people’s lives, from innovations in closed captioning to new applications for smart glasses. These new solutions come to life at the Accessibility Stage, which puts accessibility in the center of the conversation at CES.”

The Accessibility Stage will return at CES 2027, January 6-9 in Las Vegas, with even more interactive programming highlighting the latest in accessibility tech and celebrating its positive impact.

"The Accessibility Stage amplified the voices of people with disabilities while demonstrating the commercial, technological and societal value of accessibility tech," said Steve Ewell, Executive Director, CTA Foundation. "We are honored to receive this prestigious FCC award and excited to bring the Accessibility Stage back at CES 2027."

The FCC Chairman's Awards for Advancement in Accessibility recognizes people, products, services, standards and other innovative developments that improve the experience of people with disabilities using telecommunications and technology. Steve Ewell, Executive Director, CTA Foundation, accepted the award alongside Fred Moltz, Chief Accessibility Officer, Verizon at an FCC event on October 8, 2026.
