Tech & Standards Awards
Consumer Technology Association (CTA)® Technology & Standards Program recognizes individuals for their commitment to excellence as shown by their participation in CTA’s Technology & Standards program. Recipients are selected by CTA staff and the leadership of the Technology & Standards Councils, with final approval by the CTA president and CEO.
Nominations are open year-round and are awarded on an annual basis.

Bakul Patel
CTA Technology Leadership Award
For his leadership in forming and leading CTA’s Health AI Planning Council.
Bakul Patel is the Senior Director, Global Digital Health Regulatory Strategy at Google, focused on helping build a unified digital health strategy that is aligned with the global regulatory needs. Mr. Patel's vision for his role at Google is to help realize the potential of digital health that is poised to be a gamechanger in heralding a new era for healthcare generally.

Sheena Franklin
CTA Technology Achievement Award
For her leadership in the formation of CTA’s Women’s Health Working Group and her active promotion of the importance of standards.
Sheena D. Franklin is the Founder & CEO of K’ept Health, a women’s health informatics organization advancing data equity and infrastructure through trusted tools, shared systems, and intelligence frameworks that reshape how women’s health data is captured, governed, and applied. She also leads 1836 & Co., a strategic advisory firm that helps companies align business objectives with women’s health strategy. -
Adam Goldberg
CTA Technology Achievement Award
For his leadership in adding a JSON structure to CTA’s cybersecurity standards.
Adam Goldberg is Director of Technical Standards at Sony Electronics. Over the past 30+ years, he has been involved in standardization, development and deployment of digital television technologies.  He has been deeply involved in development of various components of digital television, including receivers, receiver silicon and broadcast equipment.  His current focus is security, energy efficiency, ATSC 3.0, and content provenance. -
Nan-Wei Gong
CTA Technology Achievement Award
For her leadership and timely development of ANSI/CTA-2128, Physical Activity Monitoring for Human Gait Biometrics Standard.
Dr. Nan-Wei Gong is a serial entrepreneur, technologist, and digital health innovator. She is the Founder and CEO of FIGUR8, an industry-leading platform that transforms musculoskeletal (MSK) care through objective data and AI-driven biomarkers. -
Scott Register
CTA Technology Achievement Award
For his leadership and timely development of CTA-2133, Cybersecurity Label Test Report Format.
Scott Register is currently VP, Security Solutions at Keysight. Scott has more than 30 years of cybersecurity product management and marketing experience covering perimeter defense, encryption, monitoring, and endpoint security. Scott is responsible for bringing new security initiatives to market across a broad solution portfolio including medical devices, automotive, critical infrastructure, and IOT, and he drove Keysight’s partnership with CISA as part of the Joint Cyber Defense Collaborative. He serves as Vice Chair of Consumer Technology Association Cybersecurity Working Group (R14), is active in several other CTA working groups focused on the US Cyber Trust Mark.

Jon Fairhurst
CTA Service Award
For his leadership, expertise and outstanding service to the consumer technology industry while participating in CTA’s Technology and Standards program for over twenty-five (25) years.
Jon Faihurst, recently retired, after an over 40-year career, over 30 of those years focused on video technologies. Most recently, Jon served as Principal Standards Engineer at Samsung Research America. Prior to that role, he served as the Principal Engineer and Head of Consumer Electronics Standards at Sharp Labs of American and Manager at Grass Valley Group. Jon was a leading contributor and driver of standards across industry including holding leadership roles in the standards programs of the Consumer Technology Association and ATSC.
