Article Summary

Our hearts go to those affected by last week's tragic shooting in Las Vegas. For more than 40 years, we have partnered with Las Vegas to host CES, making the city a second home for our staff, partners and 180,000 attendees. Despite the heartache and unspeakable tragedy the city has undergone, Las Vegas will continue to be the world's destination for CES. We stand shoulder to shoulder with the community, just as Las Vegas has stood by CES.

We continue to monitor the situation and CES, as always, will continue to work in close cooperation with law enforcement officials at all levels to maximize security on-site at CES. Over the years, CES has implemented bag restrictions, metal detectors and collected date of birth information as part of our security measures. For 2018, we are putting into effect photo ID badges, which will be accompanied by a government-issued photo ID before entering CES show venues.

We know Las Vegas is resilient and will move forward. Over the years, you too have been an important part of the Las Vegas community, and we look forward to welcoming you back for CES 2018.

Best,

Gary Shapiro
