“CTA’s standards program has been very active in the consumer health and fitness technology space for several years now – and this will be an especially influential forum,” said Dave Wilson, vice president, technology & standards, CTA. “We’re now working on recommended performance metrics for sleep monitors, definitions and performance criteria for heart rate monitors, interoperability standards for handling electroencephalogram data, and definitions and characteristics for consumer stress monitors. And after last year’s publication of ANSI/CTA/NSF-2052.1, Definitions and Characteristics for Wearable Sleep Monitors and ANSI/CTA-2056, Physical Activity Monitoring for Fitness Wearables: Step Counting, we’re now launching a new standard to develop terms and definitions related to augmented and virtual reality.”

Registration for the event is now open. Visit https://www.cta.tech/Events/Event-List/Technology-Standards-Forum.aspx for details. Anyone interested in CTA’s standards activities are encouraged to learn more about participation at standards.CTA.tech.
