CTA's Kerrianne Haresign Earns Society for Standards Professionals Award

Today, the Society for Standards Professionals (SES) honored Kerrianne Haresign, senior manager of technology & standards at the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), with its Emerging Professional Award. The SES Board of Directors recognized Kerrianne for her distinguished contributions to the standards profession and demonstrating leadership qualities among colleagues in the field.

 “Since day one, Kerri has brought energy, enthusiasm and innovative thinking to CTA’s standards development effort,” said Brian Markwalter, senior vice president of research and standards, CTA. “The standards Kerri helped create have made a significant impact in the entire consumer tech industry – especially the health, fitness and wellness sectors. Her work has helped develop standards that are growing emerging consumer technologies and will improve lives across the country.”

Haresign manages CTA’s Health, Fitness & Wellness Technology Standards Committee, the AR/VR Standards Committee, Technology Council and all associated working groups. These groups work on a broad range of technology subjects, including sleep monitoring, physical activity monitoring, consumer stress monitoring, mobile health applications and AR/VR. For the past two years, she also has been chair of the SES Conference Committee and an active participant in several SES initiatives.

CTA’s standards program is accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), where Haresign represents CTA on the Executive Standards Council. Haresign is a past recipient of the ANSI Next Generation Award. All of CTA’s standards are now available for free at CTA.tech.

CTA’s next Technology & Standards Forum will be Oct. 1-5 at the Loews Hollywood Hotel in Los Angeles, CA. This year's forum brings together content creators, distributors and device makers to discuss improving the commercial video ecosystem, as well as AR/VR technology, artificial intelligence, health & fitness technology and more.
