CTA Welcomes Amazon to Crystal City

The following statement is attributed to Glenda MacMullin, COO and CFO, Consumer Technology Association (CTA), and chair of the Crystal City Business Improvement District, in response to CTA member Amazon selecting Arlington, VA’s Crystal City neighborhood as the location for its second headquarters:

“CTA is thrilled Amazon is the newest member of Arlington’s growing tech community. Crystal City boasts a large, highly-skilled, driven workforce, with unparalleled access to Washington, DC’s world-class institutions, resources and thought leaders – making it the perfect match for Amazon’s mission and goals. It’s no wonder Virginia is a four-time Innovation Champion according to our biannual state Innovation Scorecard.

“For the last 12 years, CTA, producer of the annual tech event CES, has been one of the few building owners and among the most active companies in Crystal City, and we have been eager to grow the area’s innovation beyond the defense sector. Being so close to our nation’s capital and all its resources, as well as an increasingly sustainable community with a hard-working population, Arlington County will be the bedrock from which Amazon grows its success and innovates for the future.”

CTA supported the Arlington County bid to be the home for Amazon HQ2.
