CTA CEO: America Leads the AI Race When We Think Big

November 24, 2025

The following statement is attributed to Gary Shapiro, CEO and Vice Chair, Consumer Technology Association (CTA)®:

The Trump Administration's Genesis Mission is the launching pad for an American-led AI future. The United States is home to the world’s most innovative AI companies. As President Trump recognizes, AI-accelerated innovation can transform lives and solve the world’s biggest challenges.

The Administration is right to focus on public-private partnerships. To win the AI race, industry, academia, and government must work in collaboration, supporting apprenticeships, participation in AI-driven scientific research, and commercialization activities.

America leads the AI race when we think big. The Genesis Mission captures the spirit of innovation that defined our country for the first 250 years and drives American leadership for the centuries to come.”
