Debuting at Health AI+, the standard ensures trustworthy, impactful AI in health care
The Consumer Technology Association (CTA)® today announces a groundbreaking new Health AI standard, Performance Verification and Validation for Predictive Health AI Solutions (CTA-2135). Launching at CTA’s third annual Health AI+ event at the Hopkins Bloomberg Center, the standard ensures predictive health AI tools fulfill their intended purpose are effective, reliable, and ready for real-world use.
“This new standard helps developers deliver on AI’s promise to solve big challenges and address patient and provider needs,” said Kinsey Fabrizio, President, CTA. “The speed with which CTA’s Health AI Planning Council and AI Committee built consensus to propose, develop, and launch the standard underscores the urgency of advancing effective AI solutions for health care.”
CTA’s Health AI+ event also features the release of a new research report, AI’s Impact and Opportunity Among Healthcare Practitioners. While AI adoption in healthcare is still in its early stages, the report shows optimism by practitioners about AI tools’ capacity to reduce administrative burdens, improve documentation quality, and free up time for direct patient care.
Topline Findings: What Providers Think about AI in Health Care
- AI tools can help reduce the burden of non-clinical tasks for clinicians, freeing up valuable time to improve care and enhance patient outcomes.
- Clinician trust in AI remains cautious and task-specific, with concerns around privacy, cost, compliance, and over-reliance on AI tools outweighing fears of job loss.
- Clinicians note optimism about emerging use cases in surgery, documentation, and patient engagement.
The new releases add to CTA’s extensive portfolio of health focused research and four previously published Health AI standards. For more information and to see all of CTA’s health-focused research reports and standards, visit CTA.tech/HealthAI.
