The following statement is attributed to Gary Shapiro, president and CEO, Consumer Technology Association (CTA), regarding President Trump’s cybersecurity order:

"President Trump's executive order is a key step in the ongoing, critical effort to protect our nation's infrastructure. The entire tech industry recognizes the urgency in combatting new and sophisticated cyber threats. CTA will continue to promote a shared responsibility between the industry and government for security across the tech ecosystem.

"Just as the federal government is looking to beef up the security of our tech infrastructure, our industry is doing the same. CTA has released a checklist to help security installers inform consumers about which security measures have been taken by installers or manufacturers to secure their devices and offer advice for added security. All of the tools and products of our collaborative efforts are available to augment the work of federal agencies as they respond to the president's executive order. Our work is ongoing, and we look forward to continuing our efforts to strengthen our nation’s critical infrastructure.”
