The Consumer Technology Association (CTA) announced today that Hulu CEO Randy Freer and Turner Chairman and CEO John Martin will speak at the keynote panel, “Reimagining Television,” at CES® 2018. Owned and produced by CTA, CES 2018 will run January 9-12, 2018, in Las Vegas, Nev.

Freer and Martin will discuss a surprising “switch of sides” in the tech space: how technology companies are moving into content creation, while content companies are expanding their mastery of technology.

“In a world with infinite choices, Hulu and Turner are leading the way by developing strategic methods to engage consumers, advertisers and content creators,” said Karen Chupka, senior vice president, CES and corporate business strategy, CTA. “We are delighted to have Randy and John take the CES keynote stage together to discuss the future of content and how their companies are reimagining television.”

Freer and Martin join a host of previously announced CES keynoters, including:
  • Intel CEO Brian Krzanich, focusing on 5G, AI and VR;
  • CTA President and CEO Gary Shapiro, addressing the state of the tech industry and how technology is improving lives;
  • Ford President and CEO Jim Hackett, addressing the development of mobility solutions and smart city landscapes;
  • Huawei CEO Richard Yu, exploring the future of connectivity; and
  • Lyft Co-Founder and President John Zimmer, speaking at the Leaders in Technology Dinner.
“At Turner, we are taking industry disruption head on by reimagining TV. We know our long-term success hinges on our ability to deliver great experiences and create dedicated fans not only through premium content, but by also being a data-driven, technologically innovative company,” said John Martin, Chairman and CEO, Turner. “That is why we are making strategic investments and partnerships across the board with companies like Hulu, which allows us to embrace new business models so that we can reach our fans wherever and whenever they consume our content. Taking the stage with Randy at CES 2018 provides an excellent opportunity to tell this story to an important and influential audience.”

The keynote panel will take place at 3 PM on Wednesday, Jan. 10, at a new CES keynote venue, Monte Carlo’s Park Theater.
