We power lives. Through our extensive and dynamic network, we bring technology to those most in need — seniors and people with disabilities. It's more than just devices. We give people freedom, independence, purpose and most importantly, vital connections.

CES Open Path Awards

The CES Open Path Awards, a CTA Foundation program, asks consumer technology companies to leverage their products to solve challenges faced by those with intellectual or developmental disabilities (I/DD). This program will particularly target the needs of working age adults (18-64) who developed a developmental disability before the age of 21 and are seeking more independence and control in their lives.

Consumer technology companies – specifically start-up to mid-size companies – are encouraged to apply for this competition. We want to identify and amplify new or existing solutions that help the I/DD community be more independent.

Round 1 is an online application that will be judged by November 1st, 2026. Top applicants from Round 1 will be invited to Round 2, which is an onsite event at CES 2027 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

During Round 2, companies will participate in a roundtable discussion with disability advocates, consumer tech leaders, judges and nonprofit organizations onsite at CES 2027. The roundtable will be followed the next day by a pitch opportunity on the Accessibility Stage, presented by Verizon. Thanks to award sponsor, Ability Central, a Grand Prize winner will receive a $25,000 cash prize, while runner-up will receive $15,000.

Applicants are encouraged to access focus group and survey data that gives voice to those in the I/DD community and the challenges they face prior to applying.
