The CTA Foundation has set up a service through iDonate that now allows companies to turn that surplus inventory into a donation that creates positive attention and supports people in need.

Companies dealing in hardware often encounter the challenge of excess inventory that takes up valuable space in warehouses. The CTA Foundation has set up a service through iDonate that now allows companies to turn that surplus inventory into a donation that creates positive attention and supports people in need.

By visiting our landing page on iDonate, you can notify them of your interest in making a donation. They will work with you to pick up the inventory, give you a receipt for tax purposes and donate the proceeds to the CTA Foundation. Those proceeds will then be used to support organizations using technology to directly serve older adults and people with disabilities across the country. Some examples include:

  • The Arc of the United States is creating a pilot program using virtual reality technology to help adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities efficiently and successfully orient themselves in new jobs and roles.

  • BridgingApps is creating content highlighting apps to improve the physical, cognitive and or social health of seniors, veterans and other people with disabilities. They are focused on growing their financial technology content.

  • Oak Hill continued development of the Smart Home on Wheels (SHOW) which acts as a mobile demonstration center, working with communities of older adults and people with disabilities to identify and try technologies that can enable them to live independently at home.
