Navigating the Future: Glidance’s AI-Powered Mobility Aid for Visual Impairment

Glidance Inc, the world’s first intelligent guide, is revolutionizing mobility for the blind and low-vision community with its AI-powered aid designed to ensure seamless navigation with peace of mind. Equipped with its innovative Sensible Wayfinding technology, Glide, CTA Foundation CES 2024 Eureka Park Accessibility Contest Winner, autonomously guides users by avoiding obstacles, locating doors, describing surroundings, and even creating pre-mapped routes.

Amos Miller, a former product executive at Microsoft Research and Chairman of the Board for Guide Dogs for the Blind (UK), who personally experienced vision loss in his 20s due to a genetic eye condition, founded Glidance as a commitment to dismantling barriers for individuals with visual impairments. At its core, Glidance strives to transform independent mobility.

Currently, Glidance is on the road conducting demos with the blind and low vision community as part of their development process. This month, they stopped at the Central Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired (CABVI) in Utica, NY, where over 50 community members tested Glide. While still in development, Glide is projected to hit the market beginning in Fall 2025.

Visionary Shift: Soliddd’s Breakthrough with Low-Vision Aid Glasses

Sometimes, innovation sprouts from necessity. Neal Weinstock, CEO of Soliddd Corp, and Richard A. Muller, Chief Science Officer, initially set out to create a no-glasses 3D display. However, a market shift and a personal connection — Neal’s father's blindness due to glaucoma — prompted them to pivot. They leveraged their existing technology to develop SolidddVision glasses, the world’s first low-vision aid for individuals with Macular Degeneration and Stargardt disease.

Honored as a CTA Foundation CES 2025 Eureka Park Accessibility Contest Winner, Soliddd applies its mastery of autostereoscopic 3D physics to address multiple vision conditions. Currently in pre-clinical testing across the U.S. and Europe this summer, SolidddVision glasses aim to launch late 2025 or early 2026.

AI in Action: Pear Suite’s Mission to Enhance Community Health Services

A trailblazer in the healthcare space and a CTA Foundation CES 2022 Eureka Park Accessibility Content Winner, Pear Suite offers an advanced social care coordination software for community health workers (CHWs). The platform provides tools for assessing needs, managing care plans, facilitating referrals, and streamlining billing processes.

In 2021, Pear Suite ventured into uncharted territory by focusing on CHWs — key links between health, social services, and the community — starting with aiding Maui residents in accessing services following the Lahaina fire. By integrating AI, Pear Suite enhanced its platform with features such as agents, automated screening tools, note-taking, scripting, compliance assessments, and risk claims.

With AI-powered tools, a comprehensive care navigation platform, and a commitment to culturally competent care, Pear Suite has onboarded over 200 organizations nationwide, supporting more than 750 CHWs and impacting over 100,000 community members. Under the leadership of co-founders Nick Lockett (CTO) and Colby R. Takeda (CEO), Pear Suite has also launched the Pear Cares Provider Network, collaborating with multiple health plans to expand access to community-based care.
