CTA Statement in Support of STELA Reauthorization

November 12, 2019

The following statement is attributed to Tiffany Moore, Senior Vice President, Political & Industry Affairs, Consumer Technology Association (CTA) ®:

“Thousands of Americans – primarily those in rural areas – continue to depend on the STELA Reauthorization (STELAR) Act of 2014 for access to network broadcast signals and would lose service if STELAR were allowed to lapse. CTA supports reauthorizing STELAR and urges Congress to do so before the law expires at the end of the year. Proposals such as the Satellite Television Access Reauthorization (STAR) Act would allow consumer to continue to have access while also allowing Congress time for a fulsome debate on the future of the video marketplace.”
