Emerging Tech with Equity in Mind

EssilorLuxottica Secures FDA Clearance and EU Certification for Nuance Audio

Congratulations to EssilorLuxottica’s Nuance Audio Hearing Aid Glasses, a 2025 CES Innovation Award Honoree in Digital Health, who has been approved as an OTC Hearing Aid. This innovative technology making waves in the med-tech space combines premium eyewear design and open-ear hearing to transform people’s quality of life with two-in-one highly functional technology. This innovative tech is made more accessible by the FDA regulation supporting the OTC Hearing Aid Category, which is underpinned by our standards.

Waymap Launches New Partnership with WMATA

Waymap, an app that makes accessible navigation possible with step-based location technology, has partnered with the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA). This partnership introduces inclusive technology to enable seamless outdoor, indoor, and underground navigation, transforming mobility across DC, Maryland, and Virginia. 

CTA’s new Accessibility and Age Tech Working Group is actively working to foster industry collaboration, providing educational resources to encourage this kind of innovation.

Fostering the Next Generation of Tech Leaders

Toyota Igniting the Spark of STEM Learning

The future of technology is dependent on the next generation of innovators. Toyota North America is stepping up to the plate to invest in the future through the Toyota USA Foundation’s Driving Possibilities program. This signature STEM education and community engagement initiative launched four more Driving Possibilities locations in 2024: Chandler, Arizona; Greensboro, North Carolina; Atlanta, Georgia; and Blue Springs, Mississippi. TOYOTA USA FOUNDATION works with local school districts and higher learning institutions to tailor the program to fit each community’s unique attributes.
