Consumer Technology Hall of Fame

The Consumer Technology Hall of Fame is a prestigious awards program that honors innovators who have made significant contributions to consumer technology.

CT Hall of Fame

Honoring innovators who have made significant contributions to consumer technology.

Launched in 2000, past inductees have advanced how we live, work and play, including the developers of iTunes, the creator of Bluetooth, the co-inventor of the Roomba, the founder of RCA –the U.S.'s first radio company – and more. Each CT Hall of Fame class welcomes a new group of inventors, engineers, business leaders, retailers and journalists.

Call for Judges is now open. Please review the criteria below and apply to become a part of our panel or submit a nomination.

Criteria for CT Hall of Fame Judges:

  • All judges serve at the pleasure of CTA.
  • Final judges will be selected by CTA’s staff based on input from CTA’s Communications Committee, CTA staff and existing judges. The judging panel shall include representatives who sit on or are selected by the Executive Board; industry trade journalists with at least five years of experience and who are covering the consumer technology industry as an employee or regular freelancer with a recognized industry media outlet; representatives who sit on or are nominated by CTA’s Communications Committee; and members of CTA staff. Industry trade journalists should make up one third of the total judging pool.
  • Judges serve no more than two consecutive years. Judges may be eligible for nomination following a one-year absence.
  • The specific and sole role of the judges is to review the final nominees as screened by CTA staff, vote on and present to CTA staff a final list of recommended honorees.
  • Judges must agree to disclose if they are an associate or are or have previously been employed by a nominee or nominee’s company. Judges must recuse themselves from voting for that nominee.
  • Judges should only share input based on information and experience with a nominee and avoid hearsay when discussing a nominee.
