CTA Congratulates Glenda MacMullin on 20 Years of Service

Today the Consumer Technology Association® (CTA) is recognizing Glenda MacMullin for her 20 years of dedicated service and announcing her retirement at the end of 2024.
 
“Today is a bittersweet moment for our association as we recognize Glenda for her significant contributions to CTA,” said Gary Shapiro, president and CEO, CTA. “Glenda has been a trusted, respected and appreciated part of my leadership team for 20 years. Her steady hand, expertise and solid counsel to me and the Executive Board has been a guiding force for our organization. I am beyond grateful for the many years we’ve served the technology industry together and look forward to celebrating her many achievements in the year to come.”
 
During Glenda’s tenure she has overseen the purchase of the CTA Headquarters building and the Innovation House (plus its expansion). She was hired as CFO and then promoted to COO/CFO in 2012, increasing her responsibilities to include finance, HR, legal, IT, membership and the CTA Foundation. She also led the creation of CTA’s $10 million diversity investment fund.
 
And while Glenda is a master of finances, her heart has always been with the people who make CTA the organization it is today. Her leadership cultivated in CTA winning multiple awards for being a family-friendly and healthy workplace --including instituting unique health-oriented opportunities for our employees. Glenda converted the CTA Defined benefit plan to defined contribution plan including an option for additional discretionary match for staff and established a 401K oversight investment committee. She also spearheaded CTA employee incentives for local home ownership and student loan repayment.
 
Glenda also generously gave of her time and experience to serve as the Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, and member of the Executive Committee on the National Landing BID for 16 years, which won the national competition to attract Amazon’s HQ2. Additionally, Glenda serves on the executive board for the USO (National Capital District) and as treasurer and member of the Investment Committee for CTA.

I’m excited for the year ahead and look forward to spending more time with my family in 2025.”

Glenda started her career in Public Accounting at Ernst & Young and local firms across Mississippi, Georgia, Texas, Maryland, Alabama, California, and Kansas. She also served as the Controller for United States Swimming in Colorado and the Director of Finance/Grant Administration for the American Bar Association in Washington, DC.

Married to Robert MacMullin for 45 years she created her career path as a military spouse. A graduate of West Point, an Army pilot, Naval test pilot, and astronaut candidate, Bob retired from the military after a 26-year successful career of service. Glenda is the proud mom of two sons and two grandsons.
