The Evolution of Smart Cities and Connected Communities

Consumer Technology Association (CTA) and United Parcel Service (UPS) assessed the current and emerging implications of using “sensorization” and Internet-of-things technologies in communities, cities and especially in transportation systems.  Through secondary research and in-depth interviewing, this research reviews what are U.S. cities doing—or planning to do—to be “smart” or “connected”.  In addition to trends in the U.S., CTA and UPS also reviewed general trends occurring in Asia.

This study is available for CTA members only.
