The objective of this report is to determine consumer awareness, adoption and sentiments toward facial recognition and other biometric technologies, such as digital fingerprinting, eye retina/iris recognition, voice pattern recognition, facial pattern recognition and ear biometric and hand measurement. Other objectives were:

  • Understand consumer exposure to and adoption of biometric technologies;
  • Understand consumer sentiment toward the use of biometric technologies;
  • Understand consumer awareness, knowledge and preference about how biometric data is collected, stored and used.

Track how consumer awareness, adoption and sentiments towards biometric technologies are evolving with time. What is their comfort level with the myriad uses of these technologies, where are the opportunities and where might the industry encounter pitfalls? What can consumer responses to these emerging technologies reveal about consumer preferences in their day-to-day lives?
