Moderator Alexandria Sage, Automotive Technology Correspondent of Reuters, took the stage at CES 2019 with Amnon Shashua, Senior Vice President of Intel, Chris Urmson, Co-Founder and CEO of Aurora, Deborah A.P. Hersman, President and CEO of the National Safety Council, and Alex Haag, CTO and Head of Technology Autonomous Intelligent Driving, a wholly owned subsidiary of AUDI AG, to discuss the importance of establishing public trust to ensure consumers understand the benefits of self-driving vehicles and that the deployment of this technology is safe.

Before beginning the panel discussion, Sage announced the launch of a new safety coalition of stakeholders in the automotive industry to educate the public about the capabilities and new advances with self-driving technology called Partners for Automated Vehicle Education (PAVE). The coalition believes it is imperative that policy makers, the general public and media understand the limitations as well as the opportunity of this technology.
