Sara Rice, Social Media Intern, Consumer Technology Association (CTA)

NBA fans will be able to experience games in 360 degree virtual reality (VR) starting with the 2018 NBA All-Star game. Intel recently announced a partnership with Turner Sports and the NBA to make live games available in VR, giving more basketball fans a courtside experience.

Using Intel’s True VR technology, viewers will be able to freeze a moment of the game and view it from the player’s perspective. The VR technology can also be included in the broadcasts and commentators will be able to pause and replay, showing off important plays in 3D from different angles.

Before the NBA All-Star game, CES 2018 will bring together Turner Sports and the NBA at CES Sports Zone with a live broadcast of TNT’s Inside the NBA. In addition, The Sports Business Innovation conference track presented by Turner Sports will discuss how leading business executives and major sports are harnessing technology to impact the business of sports.

CES 2018 will also feature a keynote address from Intel’s Brian Krzanich. Don’t miss out, register today.
