Amazon Doubles Down on STEM

From Birchbox to Ipsy, there seems to be a subscription box for everyone. Thanks to Amazon (a Consumer Technology Association [CTA] member), your kids can join in on the fun.

Once you sign up, the company will send one age-appropriate educational toy or lab kit from its STEM Club store every month.  Subscribers can choose toys from three segments: kids age 3 to 4 years old, 5 to 7 years old and 8 to 13 years old.

The toys are “handpicked by Amazon’s toy experts to introduce simple concepts related to counting, building, and cause and effect,” according to the company’s website. “An early introduction to STEM can help build the foundation for more complex concepts as kids enter preschool.”

This isn’t Amazon’s first foray into educational toys. The retailer launched a STEM Toys and Games Store in 2015.
