Wearable Tech Hits the Paris Fashion Week Runway

Michael Williams, Digital Media Intern, Consumer Technology Association (CTA)

If you are in the tech industry, you may not have been paying attention to the latest couture from Paris Fashion Week. Intel (a Consumer Technology Association [CTA] member) is ready to change that.

The company partnered with British designer Hussein Chalayan to bring biosensing glasses to the runway. The smart accessories measure stress levels though EEG signals, heart rate and pulse.

“Fashion has all been done before; there’s nothing new,” said Chalayan. “Technology has allowed me to do things that have never been done before.”

Chalayan is no stranger to technology; he’s designed outfits with 1,500 LED lights and even dresses that dissolve.
