Facebook is Making Sure You Are Prepared for Election Day

Michael Williams, Digital Media Intern, Consumer Technology Association (CTA)
In an effort to help users learn more about local, state and national elections, Facebook (a Consumer Technology Association [CTA] member) has launched a voting planning tool. The social media site partnered with Center for Technology and Civic Life, a nonpartisan research group, since only 20 states mail out ballot samples prior to the election.

“We wanted to help people prepare for the election and make it as easy as possible to prepare,” said Jeremy Galen, a product marketing manager at Facebook.

The feature also makes it possible to share your choice with your friends, as many people look to friends and family for guidance on candidates. After you make your selection, users have the option to share their choice or hide it.
