Thursday Night Football Comes to Twitter

Michael Williams, Digital Media Intern, Consumer Technology Association (CTA)

Get ready to trade in the remote for a keyboard or smartphone because Thursday Night Football is coming to your Twitter feed. Twitter, a Consumer Technology Association (CTA) member, will live stream 10 games thanks to its new partnership with the National Football League (NFL).

“Twitter is where live events unfold and is the right partner for the NFL as we take the latest step in serving fans around the world live NFL football,” said NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.

The NFL should feel right at home on Twitter; Twitter has signed live-streaming deals with Wimbledon, the National Basketball Association (NBA), Major League Baseball (MLB) and the National Hockey League (NHL).

Twitter will stream its first game on Sept. 15 when the Buffalo Bills battle the New York Jets.
