4 Mobile Apps to Enhance Your CES Experience

Kelsey Pommer, Sr. Coordinator, Digital Media Marketing, Consumer Technology Association (CTA)™

Your mobile device will be an integral part of your time at CES. Whether you are adhering to your busy digital calendar with meetings and dinners or just walking the show floor taking pictures, you are sure to have your devices on you at all times. We compiled a short list of apps (which also happen to be some of CEA's fabulous members) that can help make your time in Vegas even better.
1. Yelp
One thing Vegas is known for (besides hosting the International CES) is its excellent dining. From Thai to Italian, you can find the best food from all around the world right in Las Vegas. Use Yelp to help you find the perfect restaurant and read reviews from previous patrons.
2. Fitness-Tracking Apps
There is so much to see on the show floor –  wouldn't it be nice to know how many steps you are taking and calories you are burning while you are enjoying all that CES has to offer? Use a fitness-tracking app like Fitbit or Jawbone to sync up to your wearable device – This can also help you feel less guilty in enjoying the Las Vegas cuisine (see number 1).
3. Personal Finance Apps
Apps like the American Express app allow you to track your credit card spending and even make payments right from your smartphone. Keep track of your travel expenses for CES using this app. You can even use an app to pay in-stores or online using Google Wallet with any debit or credit card.
4. Video Streaming Apps
If you are too tired to venture out after a long day on the show floor, stay in for a night of room service and a movie. Use the Netflix app or the Amazon Instant Video app to stream thousands of movies and TV shows right from your comfortable hotel room.
5. CES App
Here's our shameless plug – you simply cannot navigate the show floor without the official CES App. Get a full list of exhibitors and their locations, make your daily schedule, see the latest CES news. New for 2015, we have included interactive navigation within the show floor using beacons to help you get around within the exhibit halls.
We can't wait to see you in Las Vegas!
