How to One-Up Your Smart Home

Kasey Stanton, Web Content, Coordinator, Consumer Technology Association (CTA)™

A whole-home technology integration can quickly become an exercise in one-upping yourself. It starts with wanting to integrate the lights from room to room and before you know it you’re controlling the waterfalls in your Koi fish pond from your bedside table. Really. This beautiful home has all your basic smart home needs like climate control, voice command and a user-friendly RTI panel interface. It also has all the extravagant integration your heart can desire – controlled saltwater aquarium (in addition to that Koi pond), motorized artwork to hide the television and outdoor laser lights.

The project was a finalist in the Custom Home of the Year between $50,000 - $150,000 category for the 2015 Mark of Excellence (MOE) System Integrators Awards Program. The Mark of Excellence program recognizes the best in custom integration and installed technology, and this project is no exception.
