Snapchat, Shutterfly and Yelp Join CEA

There is no denying the world is in a social-sharing frenzy. On the heels of an exhilarating #CES2014, we saw 17,179 photos shared on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook and 2.88 billion people reached by the #CES2014 hashtag. Clearly, when we see something exciting, we take a picture and share it.

We couldn’t be more excited to announce that Snapchat, Shutterfly and Yelp have just joined as CEA members, bringing with them their innovation and ideas to our association. These growing, young companies have helped redefine the consumer technology market by providing innovative, Internet-based technologies that are helping other companies and brands grow and evolve.

If you haven’t yet used them, visit their websites and download their apps:

  • Snapchat allows their users to take photos and videos, add text and drawings and send them to friends. Snapchat’s wildly popular service delivers over 400 million snaps each day. That’s more than both Facebook and Instagram. That’s a lot of annotated selfies.
  • Shutterfly has enabled millions of people to store, enjoy and share billions of photos. The site includes products and services that help users turn their pictures into photo books, cards and photo gifts. They also offer free unlimited photo storage.  Can’t beat that.
  • Yelp is an "online urban guide" and business review site where users can recommend and review local business and services (there are more than 47 million reviews). The site hosts an impressive 117 million monthly unique visitors.
