Mike Bergman is vice president of technology and standards at the Consumer Technology Association, where he leads association work on cybersecurity and internet standards. Mike has been in the tech industry for more than 30 years, in memory chip design, wireless communications and digital multimedia. Mike has two patents in semiconductor design and has contributed to standards such as ATSC, DVB, NRSC and USB. He is the host and editor of the C2 Consensus on IoT Device Baseline Security.

Alexandra Blasgen is a Senior Manager, Technology & Standards at the Consumer Technology Association. She is responsible for the management of CTA’s Cybersecurity and Privacy Management Committee, Intelligent Mobility Committee, the Web Application Video Ecosystem and their associated working groups that develop standards, bulletins and other technical publications. Prior to joining CTA in 2018, Blasgen served as the Manager of Knowledge Management at the Alliance for Telecommunications Industry Solutions.

Nick Colsey

Vice president of Business Development at Sony Electronics

Nick Colsey is vice president of Business Development at Sony Electronics. In this role, he works with multiple Sony product categories and divisions to bring the connected user experience to consumers worldwide.

A Sony veteran for over 30 years, Colsey was an integral member of the team responsible for Sony's BRAVIA Internet Video, the world’s first smart TV platform. A pioneer in bringing Internet Video service providers to the TV screen, he led the team that launched the world's first 4K video store. Colsey leads a team that negotiates and executes partnerships with 3rd parties for Sony smart TVs, Spatial Reality Display and ProBravia.

Previously, Colsey was involved in various Sony Electronics’ initiatives in the U.S. Prior to that, he worked in product planning in Sony HQ in Tokyo.

Colsey holds an Industrial Design degree from Central-St. Martins in London.

Executive Director of Cybersecurity & Privacy Research and Public Policy Research at Comcast Cable

Vaibhav Garg is the Executive Director of Cybersecurity & Privacy Research and Public Policy Research at Comcast Cable. He has a PhD in Security Informatics from Indiana University and a M.S. in Information Security from Purdue University. His research investigates the intersection of cybersecurity, economics, and public policy. He has co-authored over thirty peer reviewed publications and received the best paper award at the 2011 eCrime Researcher's Summit for his work on the economics of cybercrime. He previously served as the Editor in Chief of ACM Computers & Society, where he received the ACM SIGCAS Outstanding Service Award.

Kerri Haresign is the Director, Technology & Standards at the Consumer Technology Association (CTA)®. CTA is the tech sector, with members who are the world’s leading innovators – from startups to global brands – helping support more the 18 million American jobs. CTA owns and produces CES®, the most influential tech event in the world.

Haresign is responsible for the management of CTA’s Artificial Intelligence Committee, Health, Fitness & Wellness Technology Committee, Video Systems Committee and their associated working groups that develop standards, bulletins and other technical publications. These efforts cover a broad range of technology subjects including sleep monitoring, physical activity monitoring, consumer stress monitoring, digital therapeutics, AI in Health Care, and DTV Interfaces. Additionally, Haresign manages CTA’s Technology Council, a CTO level group bridging the areas of business and technology, exploring topics such as consumer radar API, security of ML-based systems, gesture control, and Ultra HD Interoperability.

Prior to joining CTA in 2016, Haresign served as the Manager for Knowledge Management at the Alliance for Telecommunications Industry Solutions. She is the Vice-President, Board of Director of SES – The Society for Standards Professional and participates in a variety of other standards activities including currently serving as the Vice-Chair of the ANSI Executive Standards Council. Haresign is a proud past recipient of the ANSI Next Generation Award and SES Emerging Professional Award.

Emily Hoefer

Emily Hoefer is a Manager in the Technology & Standards Department of the Consumer Technology Association (CTA)®, North America’s largest technology trade association. CTA is the tech sector, with members who are the world’s leading innovators – from startups to global brands – helping support more the 18 million American jobs. CTA owns and produces CES®, the most influential tech event in the world.

Hoefer is responsible for the management of CTA’s Consumer Electronics Networking Committee, Modular Communications for Energy Management Committee and their associated working groups that develop standards, bulletins and other technical publications. Additionally, she assists with the management of CTA’s Health, Fitness, & Wellness Committee covering topics such as physical activity monitoring, digital therapeutics, and real-world analysis. Hoefer also serves as the US TAG Secretary for TC 100 (Audio, video and multimedia systems and equipment) and TC 124 (Wearable electronic devices and technologies).

Prior to joining CTA in 2021, Hoefer served as a Director of Standards at the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation and a Senior Coordinator, Global Standards Development at the Alliance for Telecommunications Industry Solutions. 

Steve Koenig

Steve Koenig is VP, Research at the Consumer Technology Association (CTA)® the U.S. trade association representing more than 2,200 consumer technology companies and which owns and produces CES® – The Global Stage for Innovation.

He leads CTA’s industry research including consumer and business studies, technology forecasts and business intelligence. Koenig speaks and writes frequently on technology trends and their impact on consumer behavior, business opportunities and economies.

Prior to CTA, Steve held analyst positions at NPD Group, Comscore, and a senior editor post at CMP Media’s former Computer Retail Week. He holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of North Texas.

Dr. Carlos Nunez

Chief Medical Officer, ResMed

As the Chief Medical Officer at ResMed, Dr. Nunez leads Medical Affairs, Government Affairs, Market Access, Healthcare Economics, Digital Health Insights, and Clinical Development for the world's leading provider of solutions for sleep and respiratory medicine, digital health, and post-acute care settings. This global, multidisciplinary team provides the professional and scientific expertise to align the clinical, economic and public policy realities of modern healthcare with the patient-centered mission and global business strategy of ResMed. This includes the safety, quality and regulatory efforts that touch every phase of the patient experience and product lifecycle, as well as the evidence generation and early-stage technology development that defines the cutting edge of clinical research, medical science, and advanced data analytics, including Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML).

Dr. Nunez joined ResMed from Becton, Dickinson and Company (BD) where he was appointed Senior Vice President of Medical Affairs, and led the office of Science, Medicine and Technology for BD’s largest division, after a leading role in the integration efforts following the acquisition and merger of CareFusion, in one of the largest MedTech transactions in US history. Prior to that, Carlos was the Chief Medical Officer at CareFusion, where he built and led a global team that provided medical oversight for all the businesses and functions of the company. From 2000 to 2011 he was the Chief Physician Executive at Picis, Inc., an industry-leading medical informatics company, which became part of the Optum division of UnitedHealth Group. At Picis/Optum Carlos provided medical leadership as well as clinical direction for corporate strategy, marketing, product development, sales, implementation and customer relations for global markets.

Dr. Nunez received his Medical Doctor (M.D.) degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine; where he also completed postgraduate training in anesthesiology, critical care medicine and clinical research. Before beginning his career in the MedTech industry, Dr. Nunez was a practicing anesthesiologist, intensivist and hospitalist, director of critical care research, informatics and analytics, and the Duke University educational affiliation at Carolinas Medical Center Northeast.

Dr. Nunez is a globally recognized speaker on topics ranging from medical technology, digital health, data privacy and security, AI/ML, healthcare policy, and diversity and inclusion in healthcare. He has been an invited speaker at medical conferences, technology conferences, and the White House. He currently serves as vice-chair of the board of the Health Division, of the Consumer Technology Association, and will ascend to the chair position for a two-year term in January 2023. He also serves on the board of the ResMed foundation, and as a medical advisor for a sleep-related pharmaceutical company (Apnimed) and a sleep-focused venture capital company (Supermoon Capital).

Greg Reed is the Vice President of Technology Partnerships & Innovation at Universal Pictures and is responsible for building partnerships with emerging technology companies and startups than can contribute to the studios future growth opportunities. Greg is an active participant in the startup community, helping the studio to navigate technology trends and innovation at the ground level. More broadly, Greg facilitates partnerships with his colleagues across Comcast NBCUniversal.

Prior to Greg’s position at Universal he was the founding CTO of theAudience, a leading social media company that pioneered social influencer marketing, backed by WME & Sean Parker. His product and technology team developed theAudience’s proprietary social media management platform and applications for A list celebrities and entertainment brands such as Universal, Spotify, MySpace, Fandango and many others.

Lesley Rohrbaugh is Director of Market Research at Consumer Technology Association (CTA). Lesley is responsible for coordinating and executing aspects of consumer, B2B and strategic research programs across all technology categories at CTA, as well as developing overall research strategy and project planning. With over a decade of market research experience, Lesley has worked with several major corporate and non-profit brands, is a frequent speaker at many industry events, and was recently on the board for the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the Insights Association. Lesley holds degrees in psychology and sociology from Virginia Tech. 

Dr. Thomas Stockhammer

Director Technical Standards at Qualcomm

Dr. Thomas Stockhammer joined Qualcomm in 2014 as the Director Technical Standards. In his different roles, he coauthored more than 200 research publications, more than 200 patents and 1000s of standards contributions. He is the active and has leadership and rapporteur positions in 3GPP, DVB, MPEG, IETF, ATSC, CTA, ETSI, Metaverse Standards Forum and the DASH-Industry Forum in multimedia communication, TV-distribution, 5G broadcast, content delivery protocols, immersive media representation, adaptive streaming, XR and the Metaverse. Among others, he leads the MPEG-I Scene Description efforts, is Chair of the DASH-IF Technical working group, rapporteur of 3GPP Video and XR activities as well as chairman of the DVB over 5G activity. He also received several awards for work on DASH and enTV, namely the INCITS Technical Excellence Award 2013, the 3GPP Excellence award 2017, the CTA Technology & Standards Achievement Award 2019 and an Emmy Inventor Award for in 2022. He is regular speaker and Program Committee Member at events such as IBC, DVB World, Mile High Video, MWS or BroadThinking.

Swatee Surve, Founder & CEO, is a pioneer in the field of Health Entertainment and has led the development and launch of disruptive technology-based healthcare businesses for Microsoft, Nike, T-Mobile, Premera Blue Cross and Eastman Kodak. These commercialization projects led to several patents including Nike's first wearable technology patents. She is one of Puget Sound Business Journal’s Innovators of the Year and is recognized as an international healthcare leader by organizations such as the U.S. State Department. She has contributed her insights in private roundtables that focused on the advancement of healthcare technologies with HHS Deputy Secretary Eric Hargan, US Sen. Maria Cantwell, and FCC Commissioner Rosenworcel. Her knowledge was incorporated into to the Consumer Technology Association’s Standard CTA-2106, Characteristics and Requirements for Chronic Stress Technology Solutions. Her essay on “Embracing the science of behavior change” will be included in HIMSS’s Medical Informatics 4th ed. Surve has an MBA from the University of Chicago, an MSME in Biomechanics from Pennsylvania State University, and a BS in Bioengineering from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She has been featured in international, national, and regional media outlets and has been a speaker at national conferences hosted by the American Psychiatric Association, Microsoft, Prevent Cancer Foundation, DICE, Medcity News, Stanford University Medicine X, University of Chicago Booth Graduate School of Business and College of Engineering, UW Foster School of Business, Seattle University, and others.

John Quigley

John Quigley

John has been with Intertek since 1990, holding positions including Project Engineer, Engineering Team Leader, Technical Manager, Operations Manager, Quality Manager and Global VP. John currently is an Officer in the USNC/IECEE and is the current Chair of the IECEE CTL. John is responsible for Intertek’s Global Management System and is implemented in more than 60 laboratories worldwide.
