Record-Setting Tech Sales Expected as Black Friday Becomes ‘Black Friday Week,’ According to Consumer Technology Association

A record-setting 91 million (37 percent) Americans expect to purchase tech or tech accessories during Black Friday Week (the Monday before Thanksgiving through Cyber Monday), according to a new report released today by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), formerly the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)®. The 2015 Pre-Black Friday Survey finds consumer shopping behavior is moving away from the traditional, in-store Black Friday experience as Americans shop more frequently online and via mobile throughout the Thanksgiving week, alter when they shop and visit fewer physical stores on Black Friday.

Consumer Technology Association Announces All FCC and FTC Commissioners Will Address CES 2016

The Consumer Technology Association (CTA)TM , formerly the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)®, today announced two of the nation’s top regulators, Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Chairwoman Edith Ramirez and Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chairman Tom Wheeler, are returning as featured speakers as part of the CES® 2016 conference program. The Consumer Technology Association (CTA)TM announced today the release of a new Hi-Res Audio (HRA) guide for retailers to help them better understand the growing market potential for HRA. Consumer Technology Association Study Shows Strong Interest in Hi-Res Audio, In-Store Research

More than half of recent audio technology consumers are interested in Hi-Res Audio (HRA) and three-quarters researched audio products in physical stores, according to a new study from the Consumer Technology Association (CTA)TM. The CTA study, Consumers Journey to Purchase: Audio, finds the audio category is constantly evolving with new features and products entering the market, including high-resolution equipment. “The audio market is one of the most rapidly evolving and intricate markets for manufacturers and retailers to identify consumer trends,” said Chris Ely, senior manager, industry analysis, Consumer Technology Association. The Consumer Technology Association Inducts Eight Innovators into the 2015 CE Hall of Fame

The Consumer Technology Association (CTA)TM, formerly the Consumer Electronics Association® , inducted eight industry leaders into its 16th annual CE Hall of Fame at an awards dinner held Monday night at Gotham Hall, a beautifully restored bank in Manhattan.  CTA created the Hall of Fame in 2000 to honor industry visionaries.  This year’s dinner was held in conjunction with CTA’s Innovate!
