Tech and Clothing Expected to Top Black Friday Purchases for the Thanksgiving Weekend, According to CEA Pre-Black Friday Survey

New data released today by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)® found that 61 percent of U.S. adults plan to shop during the Thanksgiving holiday, the biggest shopping weekend of the year. CEA’s Pre-Black Friday Survey also found that 31 percent of shoppers plan to buy consumer electronics (CE) products this weekend. Among those planning to purchase electronics, most expect to buy a tablet computer (30 percent) followed closely by laptop computers (29 percent), video game consoles (29 percent) and televisions (22 percent). New CEA Research Helps Consumers Navigate Protection Plans This Holiday Season

The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)®  published new research today revealing consumers’ shopping habits and attitudes toward protecting mobile devices from accidental damage. The report, Consumer Electronics, Protection Plans and Changing Habits, created in collaboration with SquareTrade, explores what consumer’s value most in a protection plan for gifts purchased during the 2013 holiday shopping season. According to CEA’s 20th Annual CE Holiday Purchase Patterns Study, the most desired electronics gifts this holiday season are tablets, notebook/laptop computers, televisions, smartphones and video gaming consoles. CEA Partners with IPI and Olloclip for Fifth Annual ‘Best Shots’ Photo Contest

The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)® today launched its fifth annual digital photo contest in partnership with Independent Photo Imagers (IPI) and olloclip®. The grand prize winner, to be announced January 10, 2014, at the 2014 International CES®, will receive a Nikon D5200 digital SLR camera. All photo finalists will be displayed at the 2014 CES in the Experience CEA booth in the Grand Lobby of the Las Vegas Convention Center and World Trade Center (LVCC).
