CEA Praises Reintroduction of ENERGY STAR Regulatory Improvement Act

Steve Womack (R-Ark.), legislation that would provide an alternate to the ENERGY STAR program’s third-party certification requirement for consumer electronics (CE) manufacturers with a demonstrated track record of compliance: “We commend Representative Womack for reintroducing this important bill, which recognizes that a costly, time-consuming, one-size-fits-all approach to the ENERGY STAR program isn’t the most effective means of improving energy efficiency." Streaming Devices Poised to Dominate Viewing Preferences as Seven in 10 TV Viewers Stream Programming
While the television continues to provide the best quality picture and viewing experience, the way content is being discovered and consumed is changing dramatically, especially for millennials. According to the preliminary results of the second NATPE||Content First and the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)® joint research study on consumers’ attitudes toward television viewing, just 55 percent of millennials use TVs as their primary viewing platform, while streaming devices – laptops, tablets, and smartphones – are poised to dominate their viewing preferences. The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)® announced its support of the new UAS safety campaign, “Know Before You Fly,” today during the 2015 International CES®. The campaign provides prospective operators of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) with the information and guidance they need to fly safely and responsibly. The effort is being spearheaded by the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI), Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) and the Small UAV Coalition in partnership with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

Tuning in to Tech: CEA Study says Viewers want 4K UHD, Smart TVs
