Consumers Adopting Innovation: Wearables, Wireless Audio, Connected Devices Experience Largest Ownership Growth in 2016, says CTA

Household ownership of wireless audio, wearables and connected devices saw the largest household ownership gains from 2015 to 2016, according to new research from the Consumer Technology Association (CTA)™. The 18th Annual Consumer Technology Ownership and Market Potential Study's findings also verify that smartphones are now a household staple, with ownership trends beginning to mirror those of televisions, which remain the most pervasive tech product in U.S. households. A Recycling Record: 700 Million Pounds of CE Recycled in 2015 through eCycling Leadership Initiative, says CTA

The Consumer Technology Association (CTA)TM today announced a record-setting 700 million pounds of consumer electronics (CE) have been recycled under the eCycling Leadership Initiative (ELI). According to the Fifth Annual Report of the eCycling Leadership Initiative, the consumer technology industry is recycling in record numbers for the fifth consecutive year. "It's a testament to our industry's commitment to increasing sustainability that even as our industry creates less waste by innovating lighter, smaller devices, we continue to see recycling increases each year," said Gary Shapiro, president and CEO, Consumer Technology Association. Tech Spectacular: #CTATechWeek Wraps Events featuring Tech Superstars and Government Leaders

The Consumer Technology Association (CTA)hosted an innovation celebration at CTA’s 12th annual Digital Patriots Dinner held last night, Wednesday, April 20 at the Marriott Marquis in Washington, D.C. The Dinner honored Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) with the CTA’s Innovation Policy Ninja Award and Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) and Rep. Blake Farenthold (R-TX) as Digital Patriot honorees for their instrumental roles in supporting and advancing technology innovation. Other #CTATechWeek events this week included a lobby day, the annual CES on the Hill, along with meetings of the association’s Board of Industry Leaders, its Foundation Board, Small Business Council and several committees.

CTA Applauds Passage of Senate Bill Refining ENERGY STAR Requirements

Home Builders’ Bottom Line Driven by Installed Home Technology, Says CTA

One-third of U.S. home builders (36 percent) say they have experienced revenue increases due to home technology installations, according to the Consumer Technology Association's (CTA)TM  14th Annual State of the Builder Technology Market Study. Since 2009, the number of builders reporting revenue increases rose more than 10 percentage points, proving that installed home technology has helped the home builder industry bounce back from the recession.
